Gamescom represents a fantastic opportunity to debut new games, organise global reveals and gauge media and player interest on a large scale. A well-placed media preview event or a consumer booth can kickstart the marketing cycle for a game and bring it to the top of media attention, but they require careful planning and execution.

Organising demos and activations at gamescom is Swipe Right’s bread and butter. So when Nuverse, the publishing arm of ByteDance, asked us to help reveal their AAA open world shooter Earth: Revival within a month, we said no problem. Earth: Revival was a new IP from an unknown developer, and the development team unfortunately couldn’t make it to Cologne in person due to COVID-19 restrictions.
That didn’t stop us from going above and beyond to support. We’ve studied the show floor preview demo and guided journalists through it on behalf of the dev team, highlighting key features of the game and its expansive open world and making sure to communicate with the developers regularly and run any complex questions by them.
